|Toby Farms serves students in grades 3 - 8.
The Toby Farms school is focused on providing middle years children with a caring, respectful environment. The modern facility features a school-within-a-school model, with academies for Allied Health, Civics & Government, and Humanities. Toby Farms bridges students to be career- and college-ready as they prepare for high school, ensuring a strong start for continuing education and career success.
Toby Farms also has a new STEM Program for 7th grade students, which will ultimately feed into the STEM Program at Showalter. This program has a strong focus on mathematics, technology, engineering, and the sciences, preparing students for jobs in the 21st century marketplace. Please note that STEM Program students have a separate uniform policy (see below).
In 2013, Toby Farms will feature a Parent University designed to help parents further the education of their students, and themselves.
The general curriculum at Toby Farms is supported by the following textbooks: Success for All Reading, Everyday Mathematics, and Scott Foresman Science, Social Studies, and Music. In addition, students receive extra help using Reading Recovery (grade 1) and computer assisted programs such as Achieve 3000 (reading), First in Math and Apangea (math). Extracurricular programs include: “Sing to Learn” (K-2), General Music (Pre-K-8), Instrumental Music/Band program (4-8), football, basketball, volley ball, cheerleading, soccer, baseball, softball, track (middle years), Freedom School, and afterschool club activities.
